February 2020 LANtech was awarded an exciting contract by the Dodd Group a large M&E Contractor in the South West to supply and install a complete new CAT6 UTP CCA rated LSZH network within the new Yeovil Hospital Keyworkers Accommodation site.

 

 

The Yeovil District Hospital has benefitted from a £20m investment to construct the new Keyworker accommodation buildings. The development has been constructed by Speller Metcalfe approx. 500 metres from the hospital and has 176 bedrooms across a mixture of 66 one, two, four and eight bedroom apartments split over two buildings.

The new development has shared living areas and communal gardens for resident staff and students to socialise and relax away from work.

The brand-new complex provides modern, high-quality accommodation and affordable housing to many of the hardworking and dedicated frontline NHS staff and medical students of Yeovil District Hospital. The complex is a much-needed scheme, which will not only improve the lives of the NHS staff and students who work at the hospital, but it will also breathe new life into a town centre site which has been derelict for a number of years.

LANtech Communications provided a complete Excel CAT6 UTP LSZH CCA Rated data cabling solution for the entire project. The data cabling infrastructure incorporated a total of 137x Excel CAT6 UTP outlets for use as CCTV/Access Control/WIFI and BMS data outlets. The Main Server Room is housed on the ground floor of A-Block.

A new 8core OM3 multimode fibre optic link cable and 20pair CW1308 multicore telephone link cable was supplied and installed between the comms cabinets located in A and B Blocks.

Within the ground floor Main Server Room in A-Block LANtech have provided 1x Excel 42u 800x1000mm server comms cabinet and 1x Excel 30u 800x1000mm comms cabinet in the first floor Secondary Comms Room in B-Block.

LANtech have provided an Excel 25year Warranty, along with the necessary test certification and as fitted drawings for the installation. All work was completed on time and to budget.
