May 2020 LANtech were awarded a sizable contract by the Sure Connect Systems a large M&E Contractor in the North of England to supply and install a new Ultima CAT6A U/FTP LSZH network within the new 420 place Roundswell Community Primary Academy in Barnstaple, North Devon.

The new Academy has been constructed by Portacabin and is made up of 44x pre-constructed modules, which were delivered to site and constructed on site over two levels. The new Academy benefits from specialist facilities for Drama, Sports, Food Technology, Science and Art normally found in secondary schools.

The school has the latest in IT technology to support mobile IT devices across the school. The school has spacious classrooms and specialist Science and Art areas, a multi activity studio, library and a 39-place nursery.  Outside there will be sports pitches, multi-use games area and environmental area.

LANtech Communications provided a complete Ultima CAT6A U/FTP CCA rated LSZH data cabling solution for the entire project. The data cabling incorporated 376 new Ultima CAT6A U/FTP data outlets for use as Desktop/CCTV/Access Control/WIFI/BMS data outlets. The dedicated main Server Room is housed centrally on the first floor of the academy.

Within the Main Server Room LANtech have provided 2x Excel 42u 800x1000mm server comms cabinets complete with ancillaries including PDU’s, internal cable trays, rack mounted fan trays, and cable management. One cabinet houses the internal network cabling with the second housing all the active equipment.

LANtech have provided an Ultima 25year Warranty, along with the necessary test certification and as fitted drawings for the installation. All work was completed on time and to budget.
