In June 2015 LANtech was awarded a sizable contract by the Dodd Group a large M&E Contractor in the South West to supply and install a complete new CAT6A U/UTP LSZH network within the refurbished former South West Water building at Kings Ash House in Paignton.
Kings Ash House has benefitted from a £1m investment from the Torbay Development Agency for the Grade A refurbishment of its 2 storey office accommodation. The project has comprised a full internal fit out of the building to create modern, multi-use offices. The project has also incorporated a re-design of the building’s internal space, creating 30 state-of-the-art offices. The building has been re-roofed and new windows have been installed to create a bright, well-lit environment.
Kings Ash House had been out of use and derelict for a number of years and the refurbished building will provide a much-needed resource for local businesses.
LANtech Communications provided a complete Excel CAT6A U/UTP LSZH data cabling solution for the entire project. The data cabling incorporated approximately 356 Excel CAT6A U/UTP outlets for use as desktop data outlets, WIFI coverage and telephone outlets arranged over two levels of the office space with the main server room housed in the basement.
Within the basement LANtech have provided 2x Cooper B-Line 42u 800x1000mm server comms cabinets, one to house the internal network cabling with the second housing all the active equipment. LANtech have installed new basket tray to neatly dress the cables to the comms cabinets from high level.
LANtech have provided an Excel 25year Warranty, along with the necessary test certification and as fitted drawings for the installation. All work was completed on time and to budget.
